Everyone has a favorite family chili recipe. Dig yours out and see if 5,000 plus people who are expected to attend the 2012 Owasso Harvest Festival Chili Cook-Off agree. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 27th in Rayola Park, located on 4th St. between 76th and 86th North on the west side of Hwy 169.
Local chili and salsa teams are being sought to compete for the coveted People’s Choice Chili and People’s Choice Salsa championships. Prizes will also be given for Best Booth/Showmanship.
IT'S NOTJUST CHILI ANYMORE! This year the Owasso Harvest Festival Chili Cook-Off will also have the sweet, tangy aroma of championship barbecue floating through the air.
The Sertoma Club has added a Pick 3 BBQ competition to Owasso’s premier community event. BBQ teams can choose from beef, pork, wings, beans, baloney and sausage and present three to be sampled by those purchasing Tasting Kits and then voting for their favorite BBQ team.
There will be a Youth People’s Choice Chili competition again this year. Youth teams must have adult supervision. The cooks and servers must be youth.
Businesses, churches, community organizations, charities and individuals can enjoy a great day serving their chili, salsa and BBQ concoctions to hundreds of their friends and neighbors who have purchased Tasting Kits. Proceeds from the Tasting Kit sales will go to support the Owasso High FFA.
