Largest Soccer Competition in Special Olympics Oklahoma’s History
OWASSO, Okla. – On Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Special Olympics Oklahoma will host the annual state-level Soccer competition at the Owasso Sports Complex in Owasso, Oklahoma. This year, with 42 teams, is the largest Soccer competition held in Special Olympics Oklahoma’s history.
Teams are coming from as far away as Noble, Bethany, Yukon and Harrah. There are also several local teams from Jenks, Owasso, Wagoner and Sperry. Robert Schaefer, Wagoner, is the Special Olympics Oklahoma Soccer Sports Director and will be in charge of the event.
Professional referees are volunteering their time to officiate at this event. The Owasso Soccer Club Board of Directors and the North East Oklahoma Futbol Club have hosted the statewide soccer competition for the past 8 years.
The Owasso Sports Complex is located at 10320 E. 116th Street North, just west of Highway 169.
