Woman abducted from Owasso PetSmart


Just after 7pm Monday, Owasso Police dispatch received a call reporting an abduction of a Skiatook woman from the PetSmart located in Smith Farm Shopping Center in Owasso. 

Witnesses at the scene, including a friend shopping with the victim told officers the victim was dragged away  by a white male and forced into a silver car which drove away. The victims car was still in the parking lot. The friend told police that she knew the man and he was known to the victim.

Owasso police quickly found out the cell phone number of the victim and began tracking its location as it moved north toward Skiatook. 

Just after 8pm Owasso Police received information that the car involved in the abduction was involved in an accident on Hwy 11 approximately 4 miles north of Hwy 20. 

The victim, injured in the accident was taken to St. John Tulsa. Her condition is currently unknown. The suspect fled the scene on foot into Washington county. Information was received by authorities that the suspect was armed with a hand gun. 

Owasso Street Crimes Officers arrived at the accident scene, and Owasso K-9 Officer began tracking the suspect at the request of Washington County. Collinsville K-9 officer soon joined in the search. 
 
Just before 9:30pm the foot search was called off for safety reasons. 

A statement with further information is expected from Owasso Police Tuesday morning.

Update: Owasso Police are now reporting the victim was an employee of PetSmart.
