Owasso Woman dies in Saturday Crash on Will Rogers Turnpike

An Owasso woman has died after a crash on the Will Rogers Turnpike on Saturday. 

OHP is reporting that Jeanine Barrett, 62 of Owasso was driving westbound just before 4pm on the turnpike in a 2005 Kia, 6 miles west of Adair County. 

Barrett came upon a scene of a previous accident, and hit a disabled Jeep head on. David Hurst, 29 of Clarksville, Tennessee was in the Jeep, and was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with head, trunk, external, arm and leg injuries. He was reported in good condition. 


Jeanine Barrett was pinned in her vehicle for 48 minutes, and was transported to St. Francis  where she later died. 

OHP reports a wet roadway with misting weather conditions. 

The report also shows seatbelts were equipped but not in use in Barrett's car. Seatbelts were equipped and in use in Hurst's vehicle.
